• Care: Provide the animal(s) with daily food, water, shelter, exercise, and love. Ensure a
safe and secure environment.
• Training: Foster pets must be trained or monitored during the foster period. This may
include basic obedience or house training. No off leash training is permitted, the animal
should be secured at all times.
• Vet Care: The animal will receive all necessary veterinary care, including vaccinations,
spaying/neutering, and other treatments, as arranged by the Rescue. In case of an
emergency, Foster Parent must contact the Rescue immediately for approval of any
medical procedures.
• Transportation: If required, you agree to transport the animal(s) to veterinary
appointments, adoption events, or other activities related to the care of the animal(s).
• Communication: Regular updates on the animal’s progress, including behavior, health,
and any concerns, must be provided to the Rescue via email, phone, or other agreed
methods.
• Adoption: You agree to support the Rescue in the adoption process and be available for
meet-and-greets with potential adopters if necessary. The Rescue will handle the finaladoption process. Foster parents will also need to provide updates of pictures for social
media and a short bio of their foster pet.
• Safety: Ensure that the foster animal is kept safely within your home and yard,
preventing escape and harm. The animal should not be left unsupervised in an unsafe
area.
5. Rescue Responsibilities
Paws and Purpose Rescue agrees to the following:
• Provide all necessary veterinary care and supplies or the animal(s) in the foster program.
• Support and guidance throughout the fostering period.
• Assist with transportation to appointments or adoption events if necessary.
• Provide the foster animal(s) with any identified special needs, including medical or
behavioral assessments, and make necessary arrangements for care.
6. Foster Parent's Agreement Regarding Behavior and Care
Foster Parent agrees that:
• The animal(s) in foster care will not be given away, sold, or transferred to another
individual without prior written approval from Paws and Purpose Rescue.
• Foster Parent will not take the animal(s) to a shelter or relinquish them to any other
rescue without the consent of Paws and Purpose Rescue.
• Foster Parent will not allow the animal(s) to breed or allow any unaltered pets to interact
with the foster animal(s).
• If, at any time, the Foster Parent feels unable to care for the animal(s), they will contact
Paws and Purpose Rescue immediately to arrange for the animal's return.
7. Foster Parent’s Commitment to Return the Animal
In the event that the Foster Parent is no longer able to continue fostering, or if the Rescue decides
to place the animal in another foster home, the Foster Parent agrees to immediately return the
animal(s) to the Rescue.
8. Liability and Release
The Foster Parent agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Paws and Purpose Rescue, its
employees, volunteers, and agents from any liability or harm caused by the foster animal(s)
while in the care of the Foster Parent. This includes but is not limited to injury, damage, or loss
resulting from the animal’s behavior, including aggression, escape, or destruction of property.
9. Foster Care Expenses
Paws and Purpose Rescue will provide necessary food, veterinary care, and supplies for the
foster animal(s). The Foster Parent is responsible for any personal expenses related to pet care,
such as toys, bedding, or any non-approved services.
10. Return of Animal(s)
If at any time, it is determined that the animal is not a good fit for your home or if circumstances
change, the animal will be returned to Paws and Purpose Rescue.11. Acknowledgement and Acceptance
By signing below, the Foster Parent acknowledges that they have read and understood the terms
and conditions of this Foster Care Agreement. The Foster Parent agrees to fulfill all
responsibilities and obligations outlined in this Agreement.
